I like to create Art that ignites the senses, stirring emotions, evoking feelings of calm and happiness to create pieces that are pleasing to the senses.
Using each medium’s best characteristics, the crisp transparent clarity of ink and watercolour, the bold full bodied flow of liquid acrylic and the luscious heavy textures of oil paint, I like to paint varied themes. Including land and water scenes as well as people, interiors and still life.
Mostly I find inspiration in fleeting moments where the light plays on a subject capturing its energy & mood. I’m attracted to sunlight and warmth, the dynamics of light and shade.
My paintings are created with an emphasis on strong happy shapes and bold tonal values. Warm harmonious colours blend together to build a flow of movement and rhythm. Creating pieces that are very personal and unique”.
